Wednesday Inspiration 6

Hey guys!
So, in a slight twist on things, this week I’m going to start with a poem I found, because this was really the most inspirational thing I read/saw all week. I was going to put the poem in its entirety here (it’s a very short poem), but to be honest I’m not very clear about copyright laws concerning poetry, and the poet is still alive, so I’m sure his stuff is still copyrighted, and I’d hate to mess with all that. So, instead, I’ll ask you to google the poem because you can totally find it very easily elsewhere online, in some places with permission of the author and publisher ;)
The poem is called “Poem Without a Title,” is by Charles Simic, and the first line is “I say to the lead.”
Really, go read it. It’s fantastic.
And now, for the pictures! (which, if I’m to honest, I’m not super clear about in terms of copyright either, so I’m just going to slink away and let it be known that if anyone ever has a problem with a picture, to email me and let me know…)

Isn’t that just...the most beautiful city picture, ever? If we’re talking about inspiration, think about writing a story set in that city, on that day of lights :)

I’m pretty sure this picture is at least passably popular on the webs. I’ve seen it before, as other people’s icons or something. I love the idea, though. Who’s the girl dancing on the fairy lights?

Who is she waiting for in the cold?

...and is it the same girl here, waiting in the early Spring?
Happy Wednesday, everyone!

  3. I love the winter woods picture---that girl could be me, waiting for no one save another snowfall :)

  4. Snow was predicted here yesterday, but we sadly got none. Maybe you're getting better luck over there? :)

  5. Ahh, I wonder where that city is. It reminds me of Hong Kong!

  6. I was actually thinking of Hong Kong or Shanghai, too! Though I can't say I'm super familiar with the night-light skyline of either from so up high :) It could be like Tokyo or something, as well?
